Salira (b. 2001) is a Indonesian theater actress and a graduate of Bachelor of Arts from Institute of the Arts and Culture (ISBI) Bandung, specializing in acting.
In her practice, Salira builds upon the concept of ‘habituarity,’ directly experimenting with objects to cultivate the actor’s memory awareness. She continuously explores the evolution of physical movement rooted in muscle memory from daily activities, passive-active expressions, and body intensity awareness. Her work emphasizes the performer’s intuitive interaction and their proximity to social or environmental issues. Staying flexible to context and working progressively, she treats her research into the performance process—from ‘pre-‘ to ‘post-‘ stage—as a comprehensive acting journal.
