Mark Chavez is a Los Angeles– and Singapore–based media artist, animator, and educator whose practice investigates decolonial aesthetics, quantum imaginaries, and large-scale public media architectures. He co-leads Giant Monster and Media Art Nexus with Ina Conradi-Chavez, producing generative and immersive works for urban LED facades and exhibition spaces across Asia, Europe, and the United States. His projects integrate AI-driven image-to-video systems, real-time graphics, and audio-reactive pipelines to examine entropy, indigenous cosmologies, and post-industrial visual culture. Chavez’s films and installations have been presented at major international venues including SIGGRAPH Asia, Ars Electronica Deep Space 8K, the Media Architecture Biennale, and City Digital Skin Art Festival. He is the recipient of Best of Festival at SIGGRAPH Asia’s Electronic Theater and has served as Art Chair for SIGGRAPH Asia. Chavez’s current research, Vision Serpent Logics, explores biocultural worlding and speculative media systems as curatorial and pedagogical frameworks for future digital art practices globally.
