Ana María Cárdenas is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of California Santa Barbara. Her academic research focuses on designing and developing augmented reality (AR) technologies to foster human connection. Ana has implemented an AR exhibition with the Museum of Memory in Colombia and documented the work of international artists and activists who use AR for memorialization. Ana has a background in graphic design and computer science. She completed a Masters in Information Science with an emphasis in UX design and Data Science at the University of Michigan, with a Fulbright scholarship. She has worked in industry as an AR research intern at Snap Inc, Adobe and JPMorgan Chase.
