Caitlin Knowles is a textile engineer and researcher working at the intersection of materials science, computation, simulation, and design. She holds a Ph.D. in Fiber and Polymer Science from North Carolina State University and is a Senior Textile Engineer at Advanced Functional Fabrics of America (AFFOA). Her work explores how textile behavior can be measured, modeled, and translated into digital tools for designing and manufacturing soft goods. Her work spans textile mechanics, material digitization, virtual prototyping, e-textiles, and digital manufacturing.
