Han Zhang is a multimedia artist, computer musician, performer, and engineer whose practice explores participatory multimedia performance through DIY installations, immersive interaction, and theatrical experimentation. Her work examines how technology and art shape lived experience, collective perception, and understanding. In music technology, she researches the interpretability and controllability of timbre and develops new musical instruments informed by emerging research across interdisciplinary contexts. Her work has been presented at SIGGRAPH, NeurIPS, CVPR, ICMC, NIME, and ARTeFacto, and performed at venues including KM28, the Every Woman Biennial, Qualcomm Institute, Future Stages, Project [BLANK], and CMMAS. She has held residencies at Elektronmusikstudion, Oracle Egg, and Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design. Han is pursuing a PhD in Computer Music at UC San Diego. She holds degrees from Northwestern University and Tsinghua University and was a visiting research scholar at CNMAT, UC Berkeley.
