Jill Bennett is a Professor and Director of the Big Anxiety Research Centre and fEEL [Felt Experience & Empathy Lab] at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. fEEL is know for community-led virtual reality/immersive media, exploring embodied experience. Her work is focused on the use of creative VR to transform the impacts of trauma. She collaborates with the NPY Women’s Council, developing First Nations-led VR with/for remote Central Desert communities.
Uti Kulintjaku is an innovative, Anangu or Aboriginal-led mental health project that takes its name from a Pitjantjatjara phrase that means ‘to listen, think and understand clearly’. Formed from the Ngangkari traditional healers and artists of the NPY Women’s Council, Uti Kulintjaku collaborate with UNSW fEEL Lab on original VR projects using Anangu stories to address trauma and wellbeing.
