Joshua Conrad is a Creative Director and XR artist, and the founder of Slow Studies Creative, a community-rooted practice focused on Indigenous storytelling, collaborative public art, and digital placemaking. He is Stó꞉lō/mixed European and belongs to Chawathil First Nation located in coastal British Columbia, Canada. Based in Ts’elxwéyeqw (Chilliwack, BC), Joshua works closely with artists, knowledge holders, and local organizations to create immersive installations and augmented reality experiences that honour land, memory, and cultural resurgence. With a focus on accessible technology and community-led processes, he uses immersive tools as vessels to reshape place-based memory through an Indigenous lens. Through Slow Studies, he helps build space—both physical and digital—for connection, visibility, and shared authorship, empowering Indigenous communities to imagine and shape the future of public space.
