Maya Kaplan is a designer and researcher working at the intersection of computational design, digital fabrication, textiles, and the body. Her work explores algorithm-based and data-driven approaches to 3D-printed textiles, engineered knitwear, and body-adaptive wearable systems. With a background in fashion, footwear, textile innovation, and movement, she combines material experimentation with emerging digital technologies to develop new design and fabrication methods. Her professional experience includes R&D and innovation projects in the apparel industry, contributing to multiple patent applications. She is currently conducting research at the Coded Matter Design Lab, focusing on computational workflows and advanced fabrication methods for textiles, fashion, and wearable design.
