Pierre Jolivet is a Dublin-based sound artist, composer, and researcher working under the name Pacific 231. Emerging from the French industrial and experimental music scene in the early 1980s, his practice explores sound as a material for perception, memory, and spatial experience. Combining field recording, electronic composition, immersive audio, audiovisual media, and interactive technologies, he creates works that investigate the relationships between environment, embodiment, and technology. His installations and performances have been presented internationally in galleries, festivals, and research contexts. He holds an MFA in Digital Arts and a PhD in Sound Art and Sensorial Perception.
