Sergio Mutis will serve as the lead researcher, coordinating the technical development of the fabrication system. Mutis is pursuing a dual master’s degree at MIT (SMArchS Computation + SM EECS) and has published peer-reviewed work on robotic fabrication, multi-agent systems, and algorithmic design (e.g., NeurIPS, ACADIA, IJAC). He will lead the development of the planning and control pipeline, toolpath generation, and integration of sensing feedback, drawing on his experience at the MIT Media Lab, MIT Design Intelligence Lab, and previously at Zaha Hadid Architects’ Computational Design Research Group.
