Tomas Laurenzo is a Uruguayan artist, computer scientist, musician, and academic whose work examines the relationships between technology, politics, perception, and the construction of meaning. He is Associate Professor of Critical Media Practices at the University of Colorado Boulder and holds a PhD in Computer Science from Universidad de la República. His practice spans generative and interactive art, audiovisual performance, computer music, installation, experimental film, and computational media. His work has been presented internationally at venues and programmes including Ars Electronica, SIGGRAPH Asia, NeurIPS, CVPR, Sónar+D, MUTEK, ISEA, and the Seoul International Computer Music Festival. Across these forms, his work treats computation not simply as a production technology but as a cultural and political medium that conditions perception, representation, and agency.
