Stellar Pathfinding
Description:
Stellar Pathfinding is an interactive installation that reads a crowd and answers with a sky. Computer vision reduces each person to one point on a Luoshu grid and tracks their steps. Nine steps in the order of Bugang Tadou (步罡踏斗), the Daoist star-pacing rite, condense live world-event and near-Earth-object data into order, tethering each body to a star of the Big Dipper. Miss a step and the sky stays illegible. Re-anchored to Changning, the work returns the ritual to the street and shows how much a machine reads into one footstep.
