Confluence Light
Description:
Confluence Light is an original, modular digital sculpture conceived as an immersive moving-image environment for urban display. Across luminous LED surfaces, flowing gold illumination and organic, branching forms gather, separate, and recombine in continuously evolving animated compositions. Drawing on the ornament, glamour, and theatrical luminosity of Art Deco architecture, mid-century theatres, and public spectacle, the work transforms the screen into a radiant field of metallic textures, rippling light, and sculptural motion. From a distance, Confluence Light appears as a glowing urban landmark; at closer range, layered details and shifting visual rhythms invite sustained looking and create a sense of being enveloped by a continuously unfolding luminous environment. The work’s visual language evokes river tributaries and currents: streams of light flow across the screens, converge into dense formations, and disperse into new pathways. This imagery connects the seductive flow of contemporary visual media with the environmental systems that sustain urban life, proposing light as both a material of spectacle and a metaphor for energy, attention, and interdependence.
