Description:
Between Two Worlds is an interactive digital installation exploring the shifting relationship between human agency and machine intelligence. Using gesture-based interaction developed in TouchDesigner, the work invites viewers to navigate a reactive audiovisual environment shaped by movement, perception, and control.
The installation examines a space where human actions are continuously interpreted, translated, and reshaped by computational systems. Rather than presenting technology as purely empowering or threatening, the work focuses on the unstable boundary between dependence and autonomy, presence and simulation, authorship and algorithmic response.
Through immersive sound, reactive visuals, and bodily interaction, Between Two Worlds reflects on how contemporary technologies increasingly mediate the way we communicate, perceive, and construct meaning. The project imagines a speculative future in which humans no longer stand outside intelligent systems, but exist within them.
Technical Information:
Between Two Worlds was created using TouchDesigner as an interactive real-time audiovisual installation. The system uses gesture-based interaction through camera tracking, allowing viewers to influence visual and sonic elements through bodily movement. Reactive visuals, spatial audio, and procedural behaviors are synchronized in real time to create an immersive environment that continuously responds to participant interaction. The installation is presented in a vertical format, reflecting contemporary modes of digital viewing shaped by mobile interfaces and screen culture.
