Ali Saffari is an artist, engineer, and architect whose practice transitioned from functional space design to narrative-driven digital atmospheres. Originally focused on digital paintings of post-apocalyptic scenes, his work now utilizes 3D modeling and game engines to explore the weight of conflict and memory. Saffari’s creative inquiry is a direct response to state repression. Following his arrest and detention during the 2019 protests in Iran for documenting violent crackdowns, he began using digital spaces as indestructible archives against historical erasure. His interactive works confront viewers with the psychological residue of trauma, mapping the limits of repression and creating permanent digital testaments for silenced histories.
