Enza Migliore is a design researcher, educator, and practitioner. She explores materials through interdisciplinary and empirical practices merging design, art, science, and technology. Her interests are in materials and product design, eco-intelligence, bio-innovation, and techno-materialities.
She holds a Ph.D. in Design and Innovation from the Second University of Naples and a two-year postdoctoral degree from Tokyo Metropolitan University.
She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, where she leads the Materialities lab. Their work challenges materials as fundamental interfaces of human interactions with the environment and society, while incorporating more-than-human perspectives.
She has published papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings in the fields of design, materials science, interdisciplinary studies, and HCI (ACM). Her work has been featured in significant venues, such as Venice Biennale, Milan Triennale, UABB, and more and has received important grants (JSPS, 2017; Design Trust-HK, 2024).
