Marcel Zaes Sagesser is an artist and researcher focused on audiovisual and sonic media. His work combines practice-based and academic methods to explore the impact of technological environments on human experiences, especially in urban areas. He earned a PhD in Computer Music & Multimedia from Brown University in 2021 and served as an Assistant Professor at the Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen from 2022-2025. In 2025, he joined the University of Applied Sciences St. Polten, Austria. His creative work has been featured worldwide, and he has received significant grants, including the Fulbright Fellowship (2015) and the National Research Fund of Korea (2025). His research has been published in various academic venues, including The Journal of Media Art Study and Theory (2023), Designing Interactive Systems (2023), and Visual Information Communication and Interaction (2024/2025).
