Jonathan Duckworth is a Professor and design researcher in the Digital Media program in the School of Design, RMIT University. He is an educator, researcher, and interaction design practitioner who has established a strong reputation for interdisciplinary practice-based design research. Duckworth has sustained a focused program of research that combines design thinking methods, user-centred design, user experience, digital media arts and VR/AR technology innovation for applications in allied health disciplines and community arts, particularly for populations with acquired brain injury, ageing, and disability. Jonathan is the founder of CiART lab (Creative interventions Art and Rehabilitative Technology) and has led internationally recognised projects exploring digital therapeutics, disability-led design, and immersive media. His research has been applied across healthcare, rehabilitation, cultural heritage, and public engagement, often working closely with clinicians, engineers, artists, and arts communities.
