Kevin Brophy

Kevin Brophy is a visual artist, writer, and educator interested in dialogical power structures—rhetorical, visual, and social–with a focus on everyday language and non-dominant narratives. She holds a BA in Studio Art and Creative Writing from University of South Florida, and an MFA in Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University where she was a Regina and Marlin Miller fellow. She has held residencies across the US and Europe; has been awarded grants and titles including a Frank-Ratchye Art@the Frontier microgrant, Media Arts Fellow at Kala Art Institute and an NEA Southern Constellation Fellow at Elsewhere Museum; and has exhibited at Arsenal Contemporary, Montreal; MoCA, Cleveland; CMoA and Miller ICA, Pittsburgh; Charlotte Street Foundation, Kansas City. She has held academic Artist-in-Residence positions at the University of Kansas and Penn State University. Most recently she was an Assistant Professor and Gallery Coordinator for the Freyberger Gallery at Penn State Berks.
