Rghad Balkhyoor is a Saudi intermedia designer, faculty member in an Interior Architecture department, and PhD candidate in Digital Media based in Philadelphia. Her work examines creativity as an emergent process shaped through interaction with computational systems, with a particular focus on ambiguity, friction, and pareidolia as drivers of imaginative engagement. Working across immersive environments, experimental interfaces, and interactive media, she engages technologies such as VR/AR, real-time multimedia, and spatial imaging to create conditions where meaning arises through uncertainty, pattern recognition, and embodied exploration. Rather than optimizing for clarity or efficiency, her work invites interpretive play and creative projection. Trained in interior architecture (BFA, MS), Balkhyoor approaches computation spatially and materially, designing environments that connect physical gesture, cultural experience, and algorithmic processes through embodied interaction.
