Acevedo is considered a desktop digital art pioneer. His first experiments with computer graphics began in 1983. His hybrid imagery has a metaphysical bent; expressed with geometrical abstraction, often with figuration. His video work explores the implications of synesthesia, cymatics, and the geometry of R. Buckminster Fuller’s Synergetics. His Electronic Visual Music (EVM) compositions are usually paired with experimental music. He studied at ArtCenter College of Design. He was an adjunct professor at the School of Visual Arts NYC, 1997-2008. His work is included in the Patric Prince Computer Art Collection housed at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
