Data Mining
Description:
I contrast the natural order with human intellectual constructions. Natural patterns inform our understanding of large data sets in network analysis when we use physical analogies, create visual representations, explore data visually, and interact in real time. Both artists and technology professionals perceive these relationships from different angles. I use software, code, computers, and digital cameras to generate computer plots, transform them into photosilkscreens for color variation on a mirror surface to depict a city. A short film of moving people is projected. It combines city imagery with animated motion, illustrating how urban life encompasses individual events and daily routines.
