Fish in the City: Hong Kong
Description:
When we speak of a city, like Hong Kong, we speak not only of a place, but of the culture lived within it. My work explores cultural legacy through everyday life: what people do, hear, feel, and pass forward. I trace relationships among people, architecture, urban space, nature, and cultural continuity. I imagine people as fish and the city’s culture as water, drawing on the Chinese expression “如魚得水,” like a fish in water. Bringing together documentary footage and AI-generated video in which people become fish, I present cultural legacy as a living experience, lived, reshaped, felt, and understood over time.
