Tomorrowland
Description:
Tomorrowland reflects on the contemporary city as both aspirational image and ecological aftermath. A distant skyline emerges through haze, polluted water, concrete, and urban debris, evoking a future that is damaged, seductive, yet already emergent. The image is disrupted through visual distortions, scratches, ink, and gestural marks, transforming its photographic surface into a site of contamination, erosion, and temporal instability. These interventions interrupt the spectacle of the urban metropolis, inviting sustained attention to its overlooked textures and contradictions. Projected at monumental scale within Jingyao Hongqiao’s Sunken Square, Tomorrowland reframes the city as a site for abstraction, reflection, and critical looking.
