Description:
Walking Through Literary Hong Kong reimagines the city as a landscape shaped by local writers. Building on the concept of the “literary walk”, this work reconstructs imagined Hong Kong sites from texts by Eileen Chang, Liu Yichang, Xi Xi and Ye Si using non-photorealistic rendering blending watercolour and oil brushwork. Originally a 6DoF VR piece, it is adapted into a horizontal digital scroll, echoing Chinese handscrolls and the bodily experience of reading while walking. Rooted in the literary connections between Hong Kong and Shanghai, the work revives written cultural heritage as an immersive spatial experience.
