Tread Softly

Description:

Tread Softly is an interactive artwork which proposes we are never separate from the environments we move through, that every motion leaves a trace.

In its original form, an Azure Kinect camera tracks viewers’ movement, translating gesture into cascading particles that progress from abstract organic shapes into the familiar forms of roots, flowers, and trees. The experience unfolds in two movements with distinct musical treatments: the first movement is elemental and abstract; the second is representational and musically flowing.

For Urban Digital Canvas, this interactive artwork is presented as a video generated from a single interactive session.
